Boosting my Spirits!

Unfortunately it has been, and will continue to be, a crazy week for me between work and appointments (acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopath, endo-biopsy, etc.). I was hoping to post a long blog this week, but it just isn't going to happen. So I thought I would at least put up a short note about how much I have been enjoying ICLW so far (I know it's only the 2nd day).

This is my first ICLW, and it's encouraged me to check out many different blogs, but the common thread I have found is just how supportive this little community of ours is.
Reading all the different posts on my site and others has really boosted my mood this week - so thanks to all the ICLW bloggers out there!

On another note - I have started my Lupron injections, and am scheduled to start stims next Friday. So far, I've only had a few headaches from the Lupron, but nothing like the migraines I got from Clomid thankfully. I also wake up feeling nauseous – has anyone else out there experienced that? I see the humour in experiencing something similar to morning sickness - I remember at the beginning of my TTC journey that any little feeling of nausea got me excited about the potential of being pregnant - how naive I was!

Happy ICLW!

  3. Thanks for popping in on my blog today! I, too, am loving my first ICLW--the support in this community can be so wonderful! Hope you don't mind if I follow you so I can continue to support you on your journey.

Hoping that we both have great success with our first (and only) IVF cycles!

  4. Thank you for visiting my blog. Medications can have all sorts of side effects. If they are very bothersome, never hesitate to tell your RE. You never know if you're having a more severe reaction than others do. Best of luck.

  6. I start stims next Thursday so I'll be just one day ahead of you! We can be 2WW buddies! Yay! Glad you are enjoying ICLW, I love it too :-) The down reg drugs are also making me feel blah so you are not alone on that one. And yes, I spoke about nausea on my blog yesterday from it all. You'll start to feel better once you add the stims, I always do. GOOD LUCK!

  9. I love ICLW too - it lets me find so many new people to get to know!

I know - it's funny how clueless we were when we first starting trying isn't it? I figured we would go off BC and bam...I'd be pregnant! hahahahahaha

  11. I had migraines, hot flashes, and crazy nausea...it was horrible. LOL. But worth it :) I see you are taking time off for this...I wish I could have! Good luck and enjoy the crazy hormonal road trip. I hope your symptoms stay fairly mild!

  12. Wow, your schedule sounds like my schedule. I am currently, well not at the moment, injecting lupron and if my memory is correct I am scheduled to start stims next Friday too. I am going to acupuncture, hynotherapy and massage.
So far the only symptoms I have are from bcp's, which unfortunately seem to be making me fat!
Good luck, I am going to follow you so we can be cycle buddies.

  13. @ Reagan's Mommy - it has been a crazy week, but I will get to your questions soon! I like my nickname "Ms. Toronto" makes me sound like a beauty queen!

  14. @ Gurlee - i'll be following you too. Good luck with all the shots, sounds like you're doing great so far. As for getting fat - the Lupron Depot did me in, that was 10 pounds ago, so its hard to tell if BCP or lupron injections are making it any worse.

  15. Good luck with the lupron! I hope it isn't too mean to you. And, best of luck with your cycle!

  16. Congrats on your first ICLW!! This is my second ICLW and my first lead me to many amazing blogs!!

I have had the worst time with nausea with my meds, if nausea is one of the side effects then I get it. A friend suggested that I keep crackers beside my bed and eat a couple of those before getting up each morning. That really seems to help me.

  17. The IF blogging community is definitely fantastic! It sucks that we're all going through it/have been through it, but at least we're not alone.

My husband grew up near Toronto (in London, Ontario). We actually avoided Toronto at all costs due to the insane traffic! :)

  19. Stopping by from ICLW. I thought I'd respond to your last post about taking time off while doing IVF. We traveled to an out-of-state clinic, so took two weeks off for a fresh cycle. I can't imagine trying to fit work in between all the appointments and blood tests, especially since hardly anyone knew what we were doing. If you have the time to take, I don't think you'll regret it.

    Best wishes!

  22. I just signed up for ICLW too! Looking forward to the support that the fellow IF community gives!

My husband and I aren't doing IVF just yet, but we too decided to try it only once. It is very stressful... praying you have your dreams come true!
